How water is collected
The skimmer collects water on the pool surface from specific openings; the water level remains below the edge. The overflow system takes the water into the channel from one or more sides and transfers it to the balance tank from there. Infinity is a special design approach in which the overflow edge is associated with the landscape.
Space and structure requirements
In a flooded system, space is required for the channel, balance tank and level control. The tank's maintenance cover and overflow drainage should also be considered. The skimmer system can offer a more compact solution; however, the need for correct engine room and maintenance access remains.
surface cleaning
The name of the system type alone does not determine water quality. Feed nozzles, wind on the surface, pool form and operating flow rate affect the distribution. Adequate flow rate on paper does not mean that there is good circulation in all parts of the pool.
Visual preference and business
The waterline of an overflow pool can offer an effect closer to architecture; edge tolerances and volume control become important. With the skimmer option, the surface level must be kept at the correct range. Automatic filling and protection requirements are evaluated in both projects.
With what information do we make the decision?
The purpose of use of the pool, the elevations of the area, technical volume, budget, view and maintenance expectations are considered together. When the scope of construction and operation for both alternatives is explained, the technical result of the aesthetic choice becomes visible.
